In the 1850s the young Thereza Llewelyn received an unusual birthday present from her family ... an astronomical observatory and attached darkroom.  She loved to use her telescope on the Moon and stars and nearly discovered a comet!  She was also a pioneer photographer working with her father John Dillwyn Llewelyn at Penllergaer near Swansea.
